Shallow water, sparkling.

El poured this for the colour of sparkling shallow water, clear enough to see straight down to the sand. Turquoise takes its name from the French for Turkish, because the stone reached Europe along Turkish trade routes.

Lit, it pools in turquoise, teal and aquamarine, the shimmer drifting like light on a reef. The drop lands bright and sudden, then sinks into a slow, sunny warmth.

Pure paraffin flows in clear, lustrous ribbons and sets with a polished sheen. It lifts away in casts when the tide goes out.

For the Wax Top who paints the canvas like a postcard from somewhere hot.

How to Use:

Light the candle. Once the wax starts to melt around the base of the wick, tip parallel and test the first drops on your own forearm before the canvas. Avoid inverting the candle, hold parallel to the canvas and rotate in the hand to melt wax evenly. Height controls temperature. Higher is cooler, lower is hotter. Build from there, one deliberate drop at a time.

Metallic finishes run warmer than standard paraffin, the mica in the pigment holds extra heat. Watch the wick while it burns. If it stops burning down with the candle, put it out and trim the wick before relighting.

Safety:

Formulated for wax play. Keep away from eyes, face, broken skin and hair. Never leave a burning candle unattended. Trim the wick between sessions. Consent and communication before the first drop, always.

Paraffin retains heat longer than soy. Never let it pool on the skin, as pooled wax can run significantly hotter than the stated melting point and risks burns.
