Pouring Candle User Guide

Collared Foxy pouring candles are created from a blend of soy and paraffin wax, coloured with skin-safe pigments. They are approximately 157g, 14.5cm high and 4.5cm in diameter. Due to the handmade and hand poured nature of these candles, these dimensions may vary and cosmetic imperfections such as jump rings, colour variation, minor settling and dye flecks may occur, which do not affect use.

Candle Temperature:

  • Pouring pillars have been measured at 46-48 degrees celcius as they are dripped onto the skin.
  • They tend to cool quicker than the dripping pillars, however avoid excessive pooling in hollows of body.
  • Be aware that leaving them to pool for long periods of time will cause the wax to be significantly hotter than drips.

Instructions: How to use your Collared Foxy Pouring Pillars

  • Light candle and let it sit for several minutes and develop a wax pool in the centre. You can have several candles lit at once, however keep close watch on them so that the wax doesn’t spill over the sides. Don’t leave them burning for long periods of time.
  • After following safety and preparation instructions, experiment with dripping and pouring wax on your partner’s body. Start at a further distance from the skin as it will be cooler than when close to the skin and determine the desired comfort level for temperature.
  • Leaving the candle to sit and burn for a period of time will result in a bigger wax pool for floods and splashes, although don’t leave the candle burning for long periods of time without pouring wax as they are not designed to sit and burn like a regular candle due to their large wick size.
  • If using a pillar candle, rotate the candle as you are dripping it on your partner’s skin to melt the wax evenly, alternatively break off any overhanging pieces.
  • Keep parallel to the body when dripping as inversion of the candles will result in soot contaminating the wax from the flame and black marks within the wax.
  • Flame size may vary due to the nature of the dye, however, will not affect the melting of the candle. The first few burns from the candle will contain more dye due to the nature of it and therefore have a smaller flame size.
  • Avoid inhaling smoke from candle when blown out.

Colours

  • UV reactive candles (fluoro red, pink, orange, yellow, green, teal, blue and purple) will react with black light, although the purple, blue and combinations of these will not be as bright due to absorbance of the light.
  • Different colours will have different opacity depending on the colour and type of dye used. All attempts are made to ensure that candles are brilliantly coloured, however, there is a trade off between colour intensity, burning ability and the risk of excessive dye settling.
  • Some frosting may occur due to soy content of the wax, but this does not affect candle use

Candle Storage

  • Candles must be fully cooled and solidified prior to storage
  • Wrap individual pillar candles in tissue paper or store in calico bags to stop them from marking each other
  • Candles will melt in high temperatures so please store in a cool place
