Pouring Candle User Guide

Collared Foxy Pouring candles are created from a blend of cosmetic grade paraffin and soy wax with a lowered melting point, coloured with skin-safe pigments. Low temperature pillars may also have other ingredients such as plant butters and oils. We do not use nut oils or butters. They are approximately 160g, 14.5cm high and 4.5cm in diameter. Due to the handmade and hand poured nature of these candles, these dimensions may vary and cosmetic imperfections such as rings, colour variation, minor settling, separation and dye flecks may occur, which do not affect use.

Candle Temperature

  • Pouring pillars have been measured at 46-48 degrees Celsius as they are dripped onto the skin. These candles can be allowed to pool, however wax may be hotter than the designated temperature. Pooling is at your own risk. Always patch test first. They cool significantly faster than the paraffin candles.

Instructions

  • Light the candle(s) that you are using and allow to develop a small pool. Due to the way these are made, they will burn better after the first couple of pools are removed, due to the dye process.
  • After following safety and preparation instructions overleaf, experiment with pouring, splashing, painting and dripping wax on your bottom's body. Start at a further distance from the skin as it will be cooler than when it contacts the skin and determine the desired comfort level for temperature.
  • Rotate the candle in your hand as you are dripping it on your bottom's skin to melt the wax evenly.
  • Keep parallel to the body when dripping as inversion of the candles will result in soot contaminating the wax from the flame and black marks within the wax.
  • Flame size may vary due to the nature of the dye, however, will not affect the melting of the candle.
  • Avoid inhaling smoke from candle when blown out. Ensure the area is well-ventilated. Use a candle snuffer or a wet cloth to stop candle from smoking.
  • Wax may leave a greasy residue, due to the soy content, however, this can be removed by a towel or washer.
  • Do not leave to burn unattended. These are not designed to be burned like regular household candles and will make a mess.
  • These are not fragranced, however some of the low temp pillars may have a scent due to the plant butters used.

Colours

  • UV reactive candles (fluoro red, pink, orange, yellow, green, teal, blue and purple) will react with black light, although the purple, blue and combinations of these will not be as bright.
  • Different colours will have different opacity depending on the colour and type of dye used. All attempts are made to ensure that candles are brilliantly coloured, however, there is a trade off between colour intensity and burning ability.
  • Soy candles tend to be more opaque and pastel than our paraffin candles, simply due to the white opaque nature of soy wax vs clear, colourless paraffin.

Candle Storage

  • Candles must be fully cooled and solidified prior to storage
  • Wrap individual pillar candles in canvas bags, in tissue paper or an alternative cover such as baking paper to stop them from marking each other
  • Candles will melt in high temperatures so please store in a cool place. Please do not leave in your car on a hot day or in a hot room.
