A sapphire specimen, cut for display.

Sapphire is corundum, the same mineral as ruby, turned blue by traces of iron and titanium. This one is a deep royal blue with a hint of shimmer as it turns in the light.

Lit, it melts into a swirling pool, the tones shifting in the flame between dark navy and bright royal. The drop lands with a bit of attitude, then the warmth settles deep.

The wax sets over the curves in a jewelled, midnight sheen and comes away whole in casts.

How to Use:

Light the candle. Once the wax starts to melt around the base of the wick, tip parallel and test the first drops on your own forearm before the canvas. Avoid inverting the candle, hold parallel to the canvas and rotate in the hand to melt wax evenly. Height controls temperature. Higher is cooler, lower is hotter. Build from there, one deliberate drop at a time.

Metallic finishes run warmer than standard paraffin, the mica in the pigment holds extra heat. Watch the wick while it burns. If it stops burning down with the candle, put it out and trim the wick before relighting.

Safety:

Formulated for wax play. Keep away from eyes, face, broken skin and hair. Never leave a burning candle unattended. Trim the wick between sessions. Consent and communication before the first drop, always.

Paraffin retains heat longer than soy. Never let it pool on the skin, as pooled wax can run significantly hotter than the stated melting point and risks burns.
