A pearl is nacre laid down layer by layer by a living mollusc, one of the few gems an animal makes. It is the palest thing on the Bower’s shelf, and every colour reads brighter laid over it. Use it as the base coat and build jewels on top.

On skin it reads white, cream and moonstone, the shimmer moving like light inside a shell. A soft, bright drop, then an even warmth that glows.

The wax sets opalescent over the skin, a lustre that deepens where the layers overlap. It lifts away in smooth, pale sheets.

For the Wax Bottom who likes to be dressed in pearls first.

How to Use:

Light the candle. Once the wax starts to melt around the base of the wick, tip parallel and test the first drops on your own forearm before the canvas. Avoid inverting the candle, hold parallel to the canvas and rotate in the hand to melt wax evenly. Height controls temperature. Higher is cooler, lower is hotter. Build from there, one deliberate drop at a time.

Metallic finishes run warmer than standard paraffin, the mica in the pigment holds extra heat. Watch the wick while it burns. If it stops burning down with the candle, put it out and trim the wick before relighting.

Safety:

Formulated for wax play. Keep away from eyes, face, broken skin and hair. Never leave a burning candle unattended. Trim the wick between sessions. Consent and communication before the first drop, always.

Paraffin retains heat longer than soy. Never let it pool on the skin, as pooled wax can run significantly hotter than the stated melting point and risks burns.
