Quicksilver is the old name for mercury, the one metal that stays liquid at room temperature, and the alchemists’ key to every transformation. On the Molten Metals shelf it runs cool where Midas Touch runs warm.

Lit, it pools in silver, pewter and pale grey. A quick, bright gasp at the first drop, then the heat settles and stays.

Pure paraffin carries the mica in a fluid, mirrored sheen and sets sculptural along every line. When the scene ends it peels free in casts.

How to Use:

Light the candle. Once the wax starts to melt around the base of the wick, tip parallel and test the first drops on your own forearm before the canvas. Avoid inverting the candle, hold parallel to the canvas and rotate in the hand to melt wax evenly. Height controls temperature. Higher is cooler, lower is hotter. Build from there, one deliberate drop at a time.

Metallic finishes run warmer than standard paraffin, the mica in the pigment holds extra heat. Watch the wick while it burns. If it stops burning down with the candle, put it out and trim the wick before relighting.

Safety:

Formulated for wax play. Keep away from eyes, face, broken skin and hair. Never leave a burning candle unattended. Trim the wick between sessions. Consent and communication before the first drop, always.

Paraffin retains heat longer than soy. Never let it pool on the skin, as pooled wax can run significantly hotter than the stated melting point and risks burns.
