Collared Foxy Dripping Candle User Guide
Share
Collared Foxy dripping candles are created from pure food-grade paraffin wax with a lowered melting point, coloured with skin-safe pigments. They are approximately 157g, 14.5cm high and 4.5cm in diameter. Due to the handmade and hand poured nature of these candles, these dimensions may vary and cosmetic imperfections such as jump rings, colour variation, minor settling and dye flecks may occur, which do not affect use.
Candle Temperature:
- Dripping pillars have been measured at 48-50 degrees celcius as they are dripped onto the skin.
- This wax holds it’s heat for much longer than a soy blend candle, dropping by 2-3 degrees over a two minute period. Please be conscious of layering immediately and seek feedback on temperature from your wax bottom.
Instructions: How to use your Collared Foxy Dripping Pillars
- Light ONLY the candle(s) that you are using immediately (usually no more than two at a time.
- Do not let these candles pool for large pours. These will not pool as soy blend candles would and any pools that form may be significantly hotter than the 48-50 degrees stated above, therefore risk burning the skin. Test prior to use.
- After following safety and preparation instructions, experiment with dripping wax on your bottom’s body. Start at a further distance from the skin as it will be cooler than when it contacts the skin and determine the desired comfort level for temperature.
- Rotate the candle as you are dripping it on your bottom’s skin to melt the wax evenly.
- Keep parallel to the body when dripping as inversion of the candles will result in soot contaminating the wax from the flame and black marks within the wax.
- Blow the candles out in between uses, do not leave lit.
- Flame size may vary due to the nature of the dye, however, will not affect the melting of the candle. The first few burns from the candle will contain more dye due to the nature of it and therefore have a smaller flame size.
- Avoid inhaling smoke from candle when blown out. Paraffin is a petroleum by-product, and whilst safe for the skin and used in many skin products and regular candles, it may produce fumes in smoke which may cause respiratory irritation. Ensure the area is well-ventilated.
- Wax remains flexible and easy to remove for a period of time, however, will hard set eventually. Paraffin is not greasy and is relatively easy to remove.
Colours
- UV reactive candles (fluoro red, pink, orange, yellow, green, teal, blue and purple) will react with black light, although the purple, blue and combinations of these will not be as bright due to absorbance of the light.
- Different colours will have different opacity depending on the colour and type of dye used. All attempts are made to ensure that candles are brilliantly coloured, however, there is a trade off between colour intensity, burning ability and the risk of excessive dye settling.
Candle Storage
- Candles must be fully cooled and solidified prior to storage
- Wrap individual pillar candles in tissue paper or store in calico bags to stop them from marking each other
- Candles will melt in high temperatures so please store in a cool place
